On Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, the 36th annual Southern Festival of Books will welcome hundreds of authors and thousands of visitors to downtown Nashville. The festival is free and will include performance stages, food trucks, and loads of publishers and booksellers. We will be hosting a Vanderbilt UP booth all weekend long, where visitors can learn about the books that VUP publishes and browse discounted copies for sale.
This year’s festival sessions will feature three Vanderbilt UP authors:
- Charles W. McKinney Jr., co-editor of From Rights to Lives: The Evolution of the Black Freedom Struggle — October 26, 3 p.m.
- Joe Nolan, author of Nowville: The Untold History of Nashville’s Contemporary Art Scene — October 27, 12 p.m.
- Andrew C. Ross, author of The Realms of Oblivion: An Excavation of the Davies Manor Historic Site’s Omitted Stories — October 27, 2 p.m.
